BioScrip Investors Would Welcome a Strategic Buyer
Amit provides good analysis of all the stocks he writes about. not everyone picks winners ALL the time and the bottom line is that BIOS is a piece of junk and returns on capital have been a joke. At least AMIT calls it as he sees them, and doesnt worry about writing about popular topics and mundane stocks...and with his MBA and CFA, and years of experience, he is well prepared to write about these companies...

BioScrip's Time to Right the Ship Is Running Out
the PBM model has a ton of inherent operating leverage and just think of the EPS they could deliver if they could inherit a cost structure like that of MHS or ESRX....someone has to take these guys out and its a shame they are still collecting paychecks...

      The Awfulness of U.S. Healthcare
not surprised to see an MD here telling us how rotten it all is - most PCPs and specialists would agree! Medicare and esp Medciaid are reimbursing doctors less and less, so there is no incentive for doctor to really provide thorough care to anyone, the new model is "churn and burn" them and this lack of incentive, combined with the power MCOs/PPOs have in cherry picking who they will insure, are some of the more dire problems in our health care system. We need not only technology, lower costs, better access - we need better QUALITY. And thats only going to happen if you give the average physician a reason to provide "real care" to the patient...

Stryker: Just What the Doctor Ordered
uncertainty has to do likely with any possible reimbursement changes for med tech under the new president. We think Health IT is "less uncertain" than med devices, insurers, or hospital plays...Med devices are big ticket items, ad in a ad economy, people actually DO put off elective procedures and hospitals cut back on what new eqpt they buy, so that, too, is probably pressuring stocks. But long term, they seem ok. People will get older and people will keep getting knee/hip replacements!

      Mylan on the Comeback Trail
nice piece, the generic stock of the year has been TEVA so maybe PMs will want to trim profits and rotate into a beaten down name (-64%) like MYL as we begin 2009
